About Dom Baza
Dom Baza, 24, is a Singer-Songwriter, social influencer, activist, and entrepreneur originally from San Fransisco and Los Angeles, California, now based in Brooklyn, New York. Dom first emerged onto the music scene in 2007 at the ripe age of 12. Dom was born in Vallejo, California and was raised there for the first 4 years of his life before moving to Fairfield, California where he was raised until he was 17. Dom fostered an early love for music at 3 years old. Always singing, dancing, and putting on a show, Dom was destined for a career in the entertainment industry. At a young age Dom joined school musicals and plays, eventually leading him to join band in middle school and becoming the lead Alto Sax player. Dom began posting youtube videos in 2008 instantly catching peoples attention and leading him to many performances to come. Dom spent his high school years in home school where he received vocal and guitar lessons while working on his career. While in school he had a residency at several local nursing homes in Northern California performing there weekly. Dom graduated early with honors ahead of his class in 2012. Shortly after he moved to Los Angeles, California and began to set up shop and make a life for him to pursue his dreams.
From 2011- 2012 Dom worked with acclaimed producer Doug Chancellor (Papa Roach) on his debut album "Time Is All I Have". The albums lead single "September" was written by Dom Baza and best friend/collaborator Courtney Johnson. The song instantly caught on with many and was played many times on the radio in Guam,USA becoming a favorite in many households. The album was released on May 29th,2012 and has since sold over 1k copies. Shortly after Dom moved to Los Angeles he began promoting the album with many performances catching the eye of Multi Platinum and Grammy award winning producer James "Jae-E" Earley (Mc Hammer,En Vouge, Mark Wahlberg, ONE VOICE).
Dom Began working with James Earley in the Spring of 2013- Winter 2014. James Earley is from the San Francisco bay area, So Dom had to move back up North to begin work on his 2nd album "Let The Music Be Your Guide" produced by James Earley. The album was produced at the historic Fantasy Studios in Berkeley,California. The albums lead single, the title track, "Let The Music Be Your Guide" was written by Dom Baza & James Earley and was released on June,17th,2013. The song was met with critical praise worldwide for it's inspiring message and beautiful lyrics by Dom Baza. Dom & James wrapped the album in the winter of 2013 and began promoting it with various performances and radio interviews throughout the Bay Area. The album was eventually released on May 27th,2014 featuring 10 new songs written by Dom Baza. Let The Music Be Your Guide was once again met with critical praise, praising Dom for his outstanding and inspirational songwriting and James Earley for his outstanding producing.
2014 marked the year Dom ventured out into the world of fashion opening up a menswear blog, mrdombaza.com. The website features new outifts and posts put together by Dom weekly. Since the website has opened it has brought in over 20k readers a month and over 20k followers on instagram. Fans of Dom's website praise his eye for fashion, styling and great locations. MrDomBaza.com continues to thrive and will continue to expand itself and branch out in the years to come.
In 2014 Dom was diagnosed with Glaucoma, a disease/A group of eye conditions that can cause blindness. When Dom was diagnosed with Glaucoma he had to put his careers on hold. Since then he has received multiple surgeries and is now in an intense treatment program. As of now there is no cure for Glaucoma, Dom's doctors are finding a way to make his Glaucoma stable with a treatment program.
As of March 2019, Dom is outpatient and is still actively working with his doctors to treat his Glaucoma. He continues to write music in hopes of recording his 3rd album soon. Dom is active on his social media accounts and recently hit 20k followers on instagram. He often tweets or instagrams his love for other artist, influencers, films, super heroes, fairy-tales, and anything pop culture. He is content on continuing his careers with his llness and hopes to one day be an inspiration for the cause. In December 2019 he moved away from California to begin the next phase in his ever-growing story. Dom Baza now resides in Brooklyn New York.
