What I'm Wearing:
Bova Tee: IanMarko, Vest: Forever 21, Pants: H&M, Boots: Calvin Klein, Fedora Hat: Rosin
Hello everyone, I'm finally back! Sorry I've been gone for 2 weeks. I purposely titled this post "Journey On". It's been a year and half since I stepped away from the music industry. It's been a year and a half since I was diagnosed with Glaucoma. This is the first time that I will have to juggle this disease, my career, and my blog. So, It's all new to me. Obviously my battle is not yet done, I have one more surgery in the coming months. In the meantime, I have decided I am going to test this out and see what I can do from my current location, San Fransisco. This is where my journey back to LA, back to my career, and back to my life, will begin.
When putting this outfit together, I asked myself, What does journey mean? / What best pieces of clothing are fit for a journey? The first designers that came to my mind was IanMarko. Ian and Marko released a fantastic better fitting tee this past November. I have been following IanMarko since last spring and dying to wear one of their bova tees on mrdombaza.com. Well, here I am wearing one! IanMarko is all about the journey. If you follow them on instagram, you know what I mean. The Bova tee is a god sent gift. Literally, it's one of my top favorite tees in my closet. When they say it's better fitted, they mean it. I couldn't be more honored to own a Bova tee and include it on my journey forward. You can bet I'll be showcasing more of IanMarko on here in 2016. Be sure to purchase your own and support Ian & Marko so they can continue creating great clothing, for all of us on our journey forward.
Every time I think of a huge journey, I think of Indiana Jones. I had to include a vest and a hat to make a little nod to that iconic franchise. If you know me, I LOVE hats. This month is the national glaucoma awareness month. When I was thinking of my journey, I thought of my disease. Like other diseases, glaucoma has a color. That color is green. I was shopping at an Urban Outfitters here in San Fran and saw this green fedora hat. I fell in love with it, and had to include it. After all, glaucoma is a big part of my journey now. Indy had a pretty sick vest in the film. I wanted to take a modern spin on it and wear this sick vest from Forever 21. It's something I would wear to perform live and I felt would look great with everything I am wearing. Since I already had a green hat, a black Bova tee, and a black vest, I wanted to find a green pair of pants. I walked into H&M and there it was. As I said before in previous posts, I love H&M's pants. The green totally matched the hat and from there it was a no brainier, that this outfit will work.
Last but not least, I am wearing boots from Calvin Klein. CK is literally my favorite. I wear a lot of CK. The boots are so pointed and reminded me of an arrow giving me directions on my journey. Or as my mom says, you can call them elf shoes. I mean, they go on a journey every Christmas, lol. Thank you guys for reading and checking out this week's post. I hope I have made a good enough breakdown of everything. It's been awhile since I've been on a journey that I was happy with. This year we are all on a journey. Let's make it safely to our DESTINation. Let's make it the best one yet. Remember, don't forget to purchase your Bova tees from ianmarko.com. Have a safe last week of the month. I will see you before Valentines Day. Also, my team better make it to the Superbowl. Go Pats. X
