So today feels like a fall day mixed with spring heat. Does that make even make sense? I put on this old star shirt from last year and went out to play the February Autumn leaves. I felt like a star today, a good star. I wrote a song called "The Fighter" for Let The Music Be Your Guide. It is a song I wrote about this guy named Zach Sobiech. We are the same age with very similar goals and dreams. The only difference was he passed away from cancer last year. I was having trouble writing the last song for my album and stumbled upon his EP. His music and story inspired me to write about him. I ended becoming friends with some of the people who run his charity foundation. We got to talking and I emailed them my song to listen to before anyone else. I got a reply saying Zach's mom Laura loved the track! I obviously freaked out that she listened to my song. It meant the world to me. I just hope that something like this can lead to something more. I have a lot of pressure on me to make this album a success. I don't believe in failure nor do I want this record to fail. Hopefully the shining stars on my shirt will shine as bright as I want them to.
