"Mr. Blue Sky"
Blue, it can be a sad color, it can make you feel lukewarm, or it can make you feel relieved. I always thought of blue as a color than can make you feel various mixed emotions. Blue was my favorite color growing up. It's still one of them, but I lean more towards green now for obvious reasons. When it rains, it pours, but then the sun comes out and a ray of light shines bright with a beautiful blue sky and white fluffy clouds from heaven to surround us so we can admire the dark times in our lives. A thread that runs through each of my letters in this book is, beautiful things can be created from our darkest days in our lives. What happens after the dark days go away? That's something I ask myself a lot lately. I go back and forth and wonder where does the story go after happily ever after? What kind of life does a person live when all they have is blue skies. I'm obviously not at that phase in my life yet. I still have a lot of growing, searching, and fulfilling to do before I reach that point in my life. That doesn't mean I can't think about a life filled with the beautiful blue skies I admire weekly. That also doesn't mean I can't be the blue skies I need on my darkiest days. Sometimes we have to be our own light, we have to be our own blue sky to keep moving forward to the blue skies that will surround us in our crowning glory.
When I put together this outfit I didn't really know what I wanted the plot of the story to be. I knew it would have to deal with blue, but I didn't know what to say to have blue make some sort of impact on peoples lives. I knew what I wanted to talk about once I reached the location we shot these photos at. It had rained all week before these shots were taken. I shoot and plan my posts months in advanced and know exactly where they fit in with the story. I'm very selective on the collaborations I take part of, and have to make sure they fit in with what's going on in my story. This outfit and what I wanted to talk about is the perfect lead in for the next page of this book. I shot this in February and knew I had to wait to share it with you all because of what the next page of this book talks about. Once I stepped outside and saw the blue skies surrounding the beauty of California, I knew what was needed to be said. I am reminded of a post I shared from book 1 of mrdombaza back in February. It was called "When The Darkness Comes". I never talked about being your own happiness in that post because I knew I had to talk about it in the future. Blue can make you feel down, unsure, unwanted, but it can also be the color that uplifts you into feeling empowered and free. Looking out at the beautiful blue sky and feeling the sun on me is a feeling you have to feel for yourself. You feel all your troubles fade away and become something of the past. When you are down and have no one with you to lift you up, you have to think of the moments when you look out and see the blue skies surrounding you. Once you do that, you become your own blue sky. Sometimes fairtytales make it seem like the royals are gonna come and save you, sometimes that can be true, but the real savior of the story is ourselves. We create our own happiness, we don't depend on people to do that for us. We save ourselves and we strive to get to our own happy ending. A happy ending that we write ourselves. I chose to wear the polo with white flowers and the pants from Kenneth Cole because as I repeat over and over, white is a color for purity and starting fresh. Every blank page is an empty white piece of paper. Whatever the color ink we fill that in with, will add life to something so innocent. As we keep writing the story will grow and eventually all the blue skies and happy day's we all dream about will come to life before our eyes.
Life has many different physical and emotional stages. We can look back but we must keep going forward. Clouds are dark and then they turn into bright blue skies. We learn and learn until we become the best at living the best versions of our lives. We travel the dark paths, take what we are given, and make the most of it. Sometimes it's not what we expect. Sometimes it's not what we want. But we must lift our heads up because the most beautiful things take time. Think of the beauty in places like San Vicente. For every hill there is to climb, there's a view on the other side, so "Carry On" and keep moving forward, no matter what.
Thank you for inspiring me to be my own blue sky.
Your endless love and support on my journey gives me the strength to carry on.
