Special thank you to the Oracle Park Staff and Giants for having us at your park and game. It was truly a memory i'll always remember and cherish.

"Swing" (feat. SF Giants)

Dear readers,
Take me out to the ball game. I mean, literally, take me out to the ball game. I've been in this city getting a feel of what life is and I didn't even bother going to a baseball game. I mean, I wanted to, but I just never made time to go. You would think, i'm in SF... I should see a Giants game! NOPE. I didn't go... until now. You see, we have had the chance to go to these games for awhile now. My family just never took the tickets or had the time. My dad texted me asking if I wanted to go. I've been saying that I have been wanting to watch a game and do something a true local would do. When he texted me, we finally all said yes and headed out to the ball game, i've long been wanting to attend. I used to play baseball. Did you guys know that? I used to love it. It is my dad's favorite sport. So as I was growing up he would buy me baseball cards and teach me about the game. Way back when I was a kid we used to play catch when he had time. I was on the little league team too! I had so much fun with all the boys my age, running the bases, catching the baseballs and making the home runs. It's not like i've never been to a Giants game before. I just haven't been to one as an adult. It's been years, but we went twice when I was little. I vaguely remember it, but back then it was called pacbell park. I didn't even know it was recently renamed, Oracle park. I don't go to that side of town often. I felt my excitement build up as I took my usual walk by the bay bridge to meet my parents.  There's something about being in an area with people ready to have some down time, chill, root for their favorite team, drink a beer, and celebrate around likeminded supporters. As we walked through the gates we were greeted with free t-shirts. I was so excited to even get a shirt for free. I wasn't expecting that, but it was a nice surprise. We made our way to our seats. I was not aware our seats were going to be so close to the field. I mean, we were on the same level as the players. It was sunny and it just warmed my heart more than I thought it would. I got up to explore the park with Uncle Robert. As I sipped on my Stella, it really hit me, i'm here. For some reason being at this baseball game really put  my time here in SF, into perspective. I've never been to a baseball game, yet alone a SF Giants baseball game, as this new incarnation of myself. It just feels like a perfect memory to add to all the other beautiful memories this city has given me over the last year. I hope I can go out to the ball game again, sometime soon. I would love to take more of my loved ones with me. Because this truly felt special. It may seem like something small to some people, but this meant a lot to me. The Giants may have lost, but I felt like I won. My heart feels full. Even though I feel like i've been there and done most of the things SF has to offer, i'm glad I get to have little experiences like this, expand my story so I'll grow as all these new memories build within this story of mine. As I left I saw the disappointed faces of many fans. The game wasn't kind to the Giants. But seeing their loss reminded me that we all loose. I know that all too well. We strike out, but we have other games to do our best to win. As long as we hold tight, stay in our zone and keep the faith, it can never really be a loss, it's just something more to look forward to.

Love, Dom
